INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY AT VAUGHAN CITY HALL
REACHING ANOTHER MOUNTAIN PEAK!! The City of Vaughan invited me to be keynote speaker at their International Women's Day event and was I ever nervous! I thought, 'How am I going to speak for 25 minutes and keep my audience engaged?' I'd never participated in anything like this and knew I had to give it my all. So, I had materials and a visual presentation I spent time preparing LOL Addressing business owners, political figures and community leaders - people I frequent because of my work but who had no knowledge of my journey - I spoke of my fears, inhibitions and how I found the courage to change the course of my life and follow my dreams. My goal was to tell this story in hopes of inspiring those still searching for a purpose and meaning to their lives. It was a nail-biter (revealing your inner self IS scary) but I did it! What moved me most were all the people who approached me afterwards to say thanks....they told me they felt I was speaking directly to them and sharing my experience gave them hope. WOW. Remember, It's NEVER too late to go after what you truly want #BeStrong.
*Thank you to the City of Vaughan and most especially to Mirella Tersigni and Sunder Singh for this incredible opportunity.

AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH
RAISING THE FLAG FOR AUTISM π April is 'World Autism Awareness Month' and supporting those dealing with this disorder was the City of Vaughan and its ceremonial flag raising. Cases of Autism Spectrum Disorder are on a dramatic rise and the reason for this is still unknown. Even more challenging is the fact that no two cases are the same. Therefore are large number of treatments are necessary with more research and resources required. Keep the support and awareness going!
CITY OF VAUGHAN MAYOR'S GALA
MANIFESTING THE SPIRIT OF GENEROSITY! ❤️The annual Vaughan Mayor's Gala is a time for the community to come together, celebrate our city and raise funds for worthy causes. Last week's gala, the 'Spirit of Our City' hit a record-breaker with the live auction raising $350,000!! Settled by Mr. Silvio DeGasperis, funds will go toward the development of Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital while the over $700,000 in proceeds from the evening will benefit the Spirit of Generosity initiative and its mission to support close to 150 charities, community groups and organizations throughout the city and beyond. Combined with the Mayor's Charity Golf Classic, the charity has raised $6.2 million. Although I enjoy every Mayors Gala (yes, I've attended ALL lol) this evening was very special as two of my dear friends, one I call "sister-wife" participated in the gala. Dia D and her brother Robert David Di Bartolomeo performed a stellar and new rendition of "Place to Be" while Elvira Caria carried the evening beautifully as event emcee. Of course a special congratulations to Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and his entire team on organizing an evening the community can participate in and enjoy while giving back.
VAUGHAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOARD INAUGURATION

Happy to spend time with VCC 'Business Achievement Awards' Chair, Phil Iorio and Co-Chair, Vito Cramarossa - a committee I am extremely honoured to be a part of. Also fun to see Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Ellen Contardi (Waves Of Changes for Autism / Grande Cheese and debate as to who has known Ellen longer...hahaha!! (Sorry M, but Ellen changing T's diaper trumps ALL π). Finally it's always a pleasure to be in the company of Loredana Di Iacovo (Waves of Changes), Mary Patrick (Dave&Busters), Jennifer Rashty (VCC) and Nadia Cerelli (Plan B Promotions)
ARTBEAT
FEEL THE ARTBEAT πΌπ¨ An incredible eve as the Vaughan community gathered to celebrate the fourth annual ArtBeat Festival. A collaboration between the the City of Vaughan and FaΓ§ade Academy of The Arts, the evening showcased over 50 professional artists and presented awards and scholarships of which I was honoured to help preside over. Thank you to organizer Mina Spremulli for inviting me to participate and for elevating the arts in Vaughan!! You are one in a million ❤
CITY OF VAUGHAN ART INSTALATION
ANYTHING FOR JOE! π❤ Barely making it in time for my friend Joe Ercolao's important event, it was a rough morning when I fell off my bike in Hockley and ended up deep in a ditch as a result of a mechanical issue!!! (no scary details but might be good idea to scrap music when riding). Lying in ditch my first thought wasn't, 'Do I still have legs?' or 'Is my bike alive?'. No. Instead I lay there, looked up at the sky and said 'OMG! I can NOT be late for Joe!!' How do you let someone down who has always been your advocate? Crooked handlebar, a bit disheveled, some bike grease from loose chain but still 'Ro On The Go' , cycling my way back to first base LOL. Thanks Ellen Contardi for pointing out brutal wardrobe malfunction but I was on the fly... literally. π
