March 29th - Earth Hour @ Vaughan City Hall
Despite the long, cold winter GLOBAL WARMING does exist. And it threatens the sustainability of our planet. Participating in Earth Hour 2014 were 6950 cities in 152 countries. This was a record- breaking year with landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the Las Vegas Strip and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem all switching off their lights for one solid hour from 8:30-9:30pm in order to raise awareness on environmental issues. Vaughan also participated with City Hall hosting a lantern walk, cycling ride as well as other fun-filled activities.Getting ready for a lantern-lit walk |

March 3rd - Vaughan Film Festival Media Launch
How many cities can boast their very own film festival? Well, Vaughan can! The 2nd Annual Vaughan Film Festival is just around the corner and movie buffs, community leaders and media gathered at the Colossus Cinemas to spread the word. Since I am a lover of film (the more obscure the better!!) I was there to give my support. Congratulations to Antonio Ienco and Mark Pagliaroli, founders of the VFF. With hard work and perseverance they've turned this joint vision into a reality.Antonio Ienco, host Michelle Beilhartz, Tony Monaco, Mark Pagliaroli |

March 1st - St. Margaret Mary Gala
My boa was a real hit at Vaughan’s St. Margaret Mary Gala!!! Apparently the staff of Da Vinci Banquet Hall is still picking up feathers on the stage where I emceed alongside Mr. Sam Ciccolini. Over one hundred developers, community leaders, entrepreneurs and individuals were honoured for their contribution to the church’s recent renovations. An added bonus was that I also got to enjoy the music of talented violinist Daniele Monticelli and vocalist Daniel Panetta. A special thanks to Father Rony for the gorgeous bouquet!Celebrated Canadian Actor Nick Mancuso |
