APRIL 27th - CARITAS TELETHON FINALE
April is telethon month for the Caritas School of Life with its grand finale airing annually on CHIN Television. Although this renowned addiction rehabilitation facility has a staggering success rate of over 80%, continuous support from sponsors and donors are needed for its sustainability. The residential program encompasses physical, mental, spiritual, social, emotional and vocational needs within a highly structured, family-like environment. For more info visit www.caritas.ca

APRIL 18th - 26th 4th ANNUAL VIVA ITALIA CUBA EVENT
Every April I head down to Varadero to join in the Evanov Radio Group's (Z 103.5 FM) "Viva Italia Cuba" event and every year I'm amazed by the incredible musical performances by participating Italian Canadian artists. Tourists from across Canada and Europe honoured our very own Juno-winning guitarist Robert Michaels, organetto sensation Claudio Santaluce and vocalist Angelo Sciortino with standing ovations. HUGE hugs and kisses to Mike, Gianfranco and Antonio of Posticino Ristorante!!! Thank you for feeding the Evanov crew and making our Cuban Easter so special. I can't imagine Viva Italia Cuba without you guys.

APRIL 9th - LUMINATO @ THE McMICHAEL GALLERY
Luminato is coming! Funny...whenever I ask people if they know what it is they answer, "Uhhhh yeah. I know THE ILLUMINATI". No, this is not a secret society or cult my friends! This is an amazing Toronto-based international arts festival that is finally making its way to Vaughan. From June 6th to 13th Beijing-born, Canadian artist Terence Koh will present two new works at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg. “Tomorrow’s snow”, a recreation of a winter’s scene with children and snow angels, is an outdoor performance taking place each evening on the gallery grounds. As an added bonus picnic meals are also available (imagine that ). “A way to the light” is a tribute piece to Emily Carr and will be installed at the McMichael Artist’s Cemetery, the final resting place of six members of the Group of Seven. Big in the New York art scene and associated with “New Gothic Art”, it’s no wonder Koh is great friends with Lady Gaga! Collaborating with the City of Vaughan this is just the beginning of many Luminato events. For those who want to know more about this multi-arts festival showcasing theatre, dance, visual arts, film, music, literature, food, magic etc...For more info just visit www.luminatofestival.com
